Houston coach dismisses two players

Houston Cougars football coach Kevin Sumlin has dismissed freshman kick returner A.J. Dugat and sophomore offensive lineman Ari Tatum from the team for unspecified reasons.

The 188-pound Dugat, from Dayton, returned 19 punts for 6.1-yard average last season and caught 14 passes for 170 yards and a touchdown.

The 6-foot-5, 240-pound Tatum, from Dacula, Ga., played in only one game.
