Hampton beats NC Central 29-21
Jorrian Washington scored two touchdowns and ran for 72 yards to help Hampton beat North Carolina Central 29-21 on Saturday.
Washington's third quarter touchdown pushed Hampton (4-6, 4-2 MEAC) to a 26-14 lead. NC Central got within five when Jordan Reid scored from 14 yards out with 4:35 left. Hampton marched down the field and converted a 33-yard field goal for the game's final score. With 1:18 remaining, NC Central marched down the field to the Hampton 35-yard line but Reid's pass was intercepted by Calvin Johnson.
Hampton's Anthony Prevost made three field goals on the day but missed his first of the year in the third quarter. Marcus Hampton rushed for 166 yards and a score and Antwon Chisholm caught eight balls for 89 yards for the Pirates.
NC Central (4-6, 2-4) took an early 7-0 lead after Adrian Wilkins returned the opening kickoff for a 96-yard touchdown.
