David Legree threw two touchdown passes to help Hampton snap a two-game losing streak and beat Princeton 28-23 on Saturday.

Legree threw for a season-high 302 yards. His 1-yard touchdown pass to Dyrri McCain gave the Pirates (3-2) a 28-20 lead with 10:31 to play in the game to put it out of reach. Princeton added a field goal with less than five minutes to play, then had one more possession, but turned the ball over on downs at the Hampton 16 with 1:26 remaining.

McCain caught six passes for 123 yards and two scores.

Princeton drove inside the Hampton 20-yard line seven times but scored only one touchdown. Patrick Jacob kicked four field goals for the Tigers (1-3), who outgained Hampton in total yards 427-396. Princeton controlled the clock, maintaining possession for 34:29 compared to 25:31 for Hampton.

Chuck Dibilio rushed for 147 yards and a touchdown for Princeton.
