In a matchup of teams headed in opposite directions, Georgetown broke open a game that was close at halftime with a big second half to defeat Fordham 30-13 Saturday in Patriot League play.

It was the fifth consecutive victory for the Hoyas (8-2, 4-1). Fordham, meanwhile, suffered its seventh loss in a row to fall to 1-8, 0-4.

Quarterback Ryan Higgins completed 35 of 53 pass attempts for the Rams, good for 387 yards. But Higgins was also intercepted three times. The last pick was returned 75 yards by Jeremy Harris for a fourth-quarter touchdown to complete the scoring.

Georgetown was far more balanced offensively than Fordham. The Hoyas rushed for 177 yards, and quarterback Scott Darby was an efficient 18-for-30 passing. Unlike his counterpart, Darby did not throw an interception. Brett Weiss also kicked three field goals to help keep the Hoyas' winning streak alive.
