Gators QB Brantley knocked out vs. Seminoles

The worst game of John Brantley's career ended with an injury.

Florida's senior quarterback was knocked out of Saturday's game against rival Florida State with an apparent concussion. It happened after Brantley threw three interceptions, two of which led to touchdowns for the Seminoles.

Brantley was sandwiched between two defenders just after releasing a pass late in the second quarter. He stayed on the ground, slipped off his helmet and eventually walked off the field with help from trainers. He was seemingly on the receiving end of helmet-to-helmet contact, which also caused bleeding to his left cheek.

Jacoby Brissett replaced Brantley.

Possibly more serious, Gators linebacker Darrin Kitchens was injured on the opening kickoff of the second half. He was strapped to a backboard and carted to the locker room.
