The Florida Gators received good news this weekend as Deerfield Beach teammates Aaron Robinson and Lavarus Tigner both committed to play for the team. The senior Robinson projects as either a receiver or cornerback in college while junior Tigner is a raw athlete that projects most likely at receiver.

The teammates were offered scholarships to Florida while attending a 7-on-7 camp being held on Gator's campus this weekend.

At six-foot-one, and 175-pounds, Robinson is currently ranked as a three-star prospect. Tigner is listed at six-foot-one and 180-pounds and is also listed as a three-star recruit but has his final two years at Deerfield Beach to improve his national ranking.

The two newest Gators recently spoke to the Gainesville Sun after announcing their intensions to play in Gainesville.

“This is a dream come true,” said Robinson, who holds 17 other offers, including Mississippi State and Kentucky. “I’ve been wanting this my whole life, to be a Gator, so I came in trying to work hard, impress everyone watching me and hopefully leave with the offer. I got that and more.”

“He (McElwain) told me, ‘We would love to have you and welcome you to the family,’ and I committed,” said Tigner, who also has an offer from Miami. “I was shocked. I never knew I would get an offer from the Florida Gators. It’s always been a dream to me.”
