Gamecocks need to match the 'swagger' Clemson has
Facing the No. 1 team in rival Clemson this Saturday, South Carolina (3-8) has absolutely nothing to lose.
A new coaching staff will inherit this roster -- meaning the current staff (led by Shawn Elliott) can throw the proverbial kitchen sink at the Tigers. This could include utilizing a myriad of formation changes, personnel surprises, and trick plays.
After shocking losing to The Citadel last week, there are very few people thinking South Carolina can pull the upset in this contest. The "us-against-the-world" mentality is one the Gamecocks could use to their advantage. The contest is being played at home in Williams-Brice Stadium. The pressure -- and expectation -- to win this game is completely gone.
As such, South Carolina should be able to come out completely free, playing with ease, emotion, and heart.
Elliott on #Clemson: "They play with a lot of swagger...That's something you can tell on any good football team." #Gamecocks
