FSU receives commitment from kicker who nailed a 75-yard field goal
Florida State gave its future special teams a big boost on Sunday as the Seminoles landed a commitment from Logan Tyler, a five-star prospect as both a kicker and punter, according to Kohlskicking.com.
The 6-foot, 195-pound Missouri native is rated as the No. 1 kicker in the class of 2016 and the No. 6 punter in the country by Kohlskicking.com.
Range certainly isn't an issue for Tyler, whose video of him nailing a 75-yard field goal has gained him popularity in the kicking community.
Tyler is a big asset for Florida State, who is expected to lose kicker Roberto Aguayo to the NFL after this season.
Here is what Kohlskicking.com had to say about Tyler: “Logan has attended multiple Kohl's events. He is a superior athlete who might have the strongest leg in the 2016 class. The ball makes a different sound off his foot and he stands out amongst other good kickers. His talent is at the D1 level. Logan's KO's are ahead of his age. His tempo and confidence in his "A" ball are impressive. He is D1 ready on KO's right now. His FG contact and rotation are clean. He is more than capable as a punter as well, his "A" ball in punting is as good as anyone in his class. Logan made 19 FG in a row into the wind during Texas Showcase, no one else at the camp was capable of making the kicks he made. He and Tucker McCann are the most college ready kickers in the country at this point.”
