Here’s a look back at the first half of action from FSU Football’s latest game as they take on the rival Miami Hurricanes.

For the 61st time in a series that dates back to the 1951 season, FSU football took the field against the Miami Hurricanes. With a 3-2 record and coming in as the underdog for the first time since 2010, the Seminoles are looking for something to turn things around and continue their winning streak against their rivals.

The teams would exchange possessions through much of the first quarter, but Miami would get a field goal before the end of the first 15 minutes to take the 3-0 lead.

The minds of FSU football fans went to Deondre Francois, who got up holding his shoulder after a hard hit and was replaced to start the second quarter with Sean Maguire. The Seminoles would get some relief when Dalvin Cook broke off a 54 yard run to put the ‘Noles in business:

But the drive would end when Maguire was picked off and Miami marched down field, as Brad Kaaya connected with Stacy Coley to put the ‘Canes up 10-0:

Miami would add a field goal with just over a minute to go to up their lead to 13-0. Unlike past moments, the Seminoles actually tried to do something before the half as a long pass from Francois to Rudolph, followed by a first down run by D12 and a long pass to Bobo Wilson put the Seminoles in the red zone before Ricky Aguayo’s 31 yard field goal actually went through the goal post, making the score 13-3 at the half.

For the first 30 minutes, the Seminoles outgained the ‘Canes 192 to 191 and had the ball for nearly four minutes more. Dalvin Cook has 87 yards on 10 carries, while Brad Kaaya is leading the way for Miami with 154 yards on 14 of 21 passing with one “touchdown”.
