Four Penn State players leave program
Four Penn State football players have left the program.
Wide receivers Richy Anderson and Jonthan Warner, walk-on quarterback Austin Whipple and offensive lineman Anthony Alosi will not return for the 2014 season. Anderson and Whipple plan to transfer while Warner and Alosi will remain at the school, a Penn State spokesman confirmed to the Philadelphia Inquirer.
"We thank them for their contributions to the program and wish them well in their future academic and athletic endeavors," coach James Franklin said in a statement.
Anderson caught 13 passes for 111 yards last year during this freshman season. The other three players saw little playing time. Alosi was suspended from the team in April following a January incident that saw him charged with simple assault.
