TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Florida State freshman quarterback De'Andre Johnson has been charged with misdemeanor battery.

Assistant State Attorney Georgia Cappleman confirmed the charge in email on Tuesday to The Associated Press in an email. Cappleman declined further comment.

The Tallahassee Police Department has issued a warrant for Johnson, who allegedly punched a woman in the face at a Tallahassee nightclub at approximately 11:30 p.m. on June 24.
