Florida OL Rod Johnson forced to retire, is getting commemorative tattoo
By Matt Hladik
There was some sad news out of Florida Tuesday as Gators offensive lineman Roderick Johnson’s career has been cut short due to a congenital spinal condition. Johnson’s issue was discovered after he suffered a stinger during an April 3 scrimmage.
It’s a devastating blow for the young lineman, but it seems he is handling the situation well. Johnson announced he’s got a special tribute planned for honoring his final play as a Gator.
"4/3/15 will tat it on me my last play in the swamp saw that white light when I went down and I stood and walk off the field with pride," Johnson tweeted.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Johnson, but his health is paramount to his ability to play football. Here’s hoping he has a bright future off the field.
