With less than a week until the season opener versus New Mexico St. on Sept. 5, Florida announced its Week 1 depth chart on Monday morning.

Offensively, head coach Jim McElwain isn't yet ready to name a starting quarterback. Redshirt freshman Will Grier and sophomore Treon Harris are listed essentially as co-starters, with the "OR" placed between their names.
Stud freshman tackle Martez Ivey is listed as the second-string left tackle, despite recently undergoing surgery on his knee. Fordham transfer Mason Halter will man the starting spot for now, with David Sharpe slotting in at right tackle.
McElwain said Morrison's injury would normally be a 10-12 month recovery. Did it in 6 months, he says. #Gators

On the defensive side of the ball, the suspensions of Alex McCalister and Marcus Maye have enabled Bryan Cox Jr. and Nick Washington to snag leading roles (for now). Highly-ranked freshman Cece Jefferson is penciled in as the second-string end behind Jonathan Bullard.
When looking at the depth chart, it's clear Florida does have a good deal of talent, specifically in the secondary.
The real question is the quarterback position. Regardless of how McElwain plans to utilize Harris and/or Grier, there needs to be consistency at the position. If one of the two (or both) can be efficient in distributing the football, the Gators certainly have the ability to surprise some people in 2015.
