Florida features at No. 10 in initial College Football Playoff Ranking

The initial College Football Playoff Ranking was released Tuesday night, with the Florida Gators sitting at the No. 10 spot.
It's a marked difference for the Gators -- who finished last year with a 7-5 overall record. Currently at 7-1, it has a great chance to climb up the rankings before a possible SEC Conference Title Game. The remaining competition on their schedule includes lowly Vanderbilt, two struggling programs in FAU and South Carolina, and a regular season-ending contest against in-state rival Florida State.
Conventional wisdom suggests Florida having no issues with the next three games. While FSU will likely provide a stiff test, this clash also provides Florida with yet another opportunity for a marquee win. If it can win out in the regular season, there's no telling how high McElwain's team will be ranked.
Fellow SEC foes LSU and Alabama are ranked No. 2 and No. 4, respectively.
