Florida A&M notches 27-14 win over Savannah State

Damien Fleming threw for two touchdowns and Florida A&M ended a four-game losing streak with a 27-14 victory over Savannah State on Saturday night.

The Rattlers (2-4, 1-1 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) scored first on Lemond Buice's 11-yard run and Devonte Johnson's 63-yard punt return in the first quarter and were never headed.

Fleming was the game's leading passer and rusher, throwing for 110 yards on 11-of-18 passing with an interception and rushing for 59 yards.

The Tigers (1-6, 0-3), who came into the game averaging only 55 yards rushing per game, again struggled on the ground with just 37 yards. Antonio Bostick had 99 of the Tigers' 143 yards passing, going 15 of 22, including a TD pass in the final minute. The Tigers' other score came on Marquis Smith's 46-yard interception return in the second quarter that left them trailing 20-7 at the half.
