FIU apologizes for 'poor decision'
College is a time to learn. And we can hope members of the Florida International football team have learned an important lesson:
Don’t confuse a public beach with a locker room.
After FIU concluded its summer workout program at Crandon Park Beach near Miami, some of the players using the public, outdoor showers decided to change their clothes. In public. Outdoors.
Head coach Ron Turner issued this statement: “I want to apologize to the community and anyone who was at the beach this morning for this unfortunate incident. We are committed to helping our student athletes grow as gentlemen while preparing them for their careers. We are looking into this incident, and if appropriate, will take disciplinary action.”
You might say Turner bared his soul with that apology.
