Eason's trainer believes Florida only backup plan for Georgia QB commit

Current Georgia commit and five-star quarterback prospect Jacob Eason is currently on an official visit to Florida. Obviously the news has got Bulldogs fans everywhere feeling nervous about the possibility of Eason changing his mind and attending school in Gainesville.

The quarterback's high school coach is firm in his belief Eason will stick with his Georgia pledge and now Lavelle Durant, his personal quarterback coach, has come out and said the same.

“He’s going out there basically to see if he can find another place that he’s comfortable in calling home in case things do not work out in his favor at Georgia,” Durant said, according to Dawg Nation. “He, of course, took the Florida trip before they named Kirby Smart as the new guy at UGA. He didn’t want to be at Georgia when or if they brought a Chip Kelly in. That doesn’t fit his style of play. He wants to see if Florida is a safe No. 2 in case things do not work out at UGA.

”I think they are basically trying to protect (Jacob) in the event that anything else happens at Georgia that they want to have a really good backup plan.”

Durant would go on to say it would take "something catastrophic" for Eason to flip his commitment. Judging by the comments of those closest to the touted quarterback, it would appear Eason will eventually end up in Athens.
