Duquesne tops Alderson-Broaddus 53-18

PITTSBURGH (AP) Dillon Buechel threw five touchdown passes, Rafiq Douglas ran 13 yards for a score and Duquesne beat Division II Alderson-Broaddus 53-18 Saturday in a game that saw back-to-back 100-yard kickoff returns for scores.

Buechel was 21 of 33 for 297 yards and no interceptions, with scoring strikes of 65 yards to Wayne Capers Jr., 8, 23, and 21 yards to Chris King and 18 yards to Reggie McKnight. King had eight catches for 128 yards.

The Battlers (4-1) jumped to a 3-0 lead on Jordan Butler's 40-yard field goal, but Buechel hit Capers with a 65-yard TD pass on the Dukes' opening drive and Duquesne (4-2) never looked back.

After Austin Crimmins' 39-yard field goal put the Dukes up 46-12 in the fourth quarter, Marcus Anderson returned the ensuing kickoff 100 yards for a Battlers' score, then Nehari Crawford returned the ensuing 100 yards for Duquense's final score.
