Larry McCoy carried 24 times for 122 yards and Duquesne converted two late first-quarter turnovers into 14 points in a 37-17 victory over Sacred Heart on Saturday.

With the Dukes (4-3, 2-2 Northeast Conference) leading 7-3, Thaimu Bangura jarred the ball loose from Sacred Heart punter Robert Shepard, who had mishandled the snap. Alex Inda scooped it up and ran 38 yards to score.

Aaron Fitzpatrick forced a fumble by the Pioneers (1-6, 0-5) on the ensuing kickoff, with Joe Cangilla recovering. Sean Patterson found Dave Williams with a 49-yard touchdown pass on the next play.

A fumble by Pioneers quarterback Dale Fink on the first play of the fourth quarter, recovered by Inda at the Sacred Heart 16, led to Eric Duale's third field goal of the game.
