The University of Connecticut says a donor who demanded the return of $3 million because he was not adequately consulted in the hiring of a new football coach has agreed to let the school keep the money.
UConn Board of Trustees Chairman Larry McHugh says in a news release that the university and Robert Burton agreed to move past their differences after senior university officials met with the donor and his family.
University spokesman Michael Kirk said Friday that Burton is no longer seeking the return of his donations.
Burton initially was upset with the hiring of football coach Paul Pasqualoni.

But he was quoted in the release as saying he decided not to let one experience change his longstanding relationship with the university.
