Delaware State beats Florida A&M 29-21

Cory Scott scored on a 55-yard fumble recovery and the defense caused three fourth-quarter turnovers to secure Delaware State's 18-point comeback on Saturday against Florida A&M 29-21.

Cory Murphy threw two touchdowns in the second half for Delaware State to go ahead 22-21 and Scott's defensive score followed.

The Hornets (5-5, 5-2 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) trailed 21-3 with 11:09 left in the second quarter as a result of their early mistakes. Florida A&M scored consecutive touchdowns following a fumble by Milton Williams III and an interception by Esayah Obado. Delaware State scored on a 9-yard run by Dae-Hon Cheung to cut the lead to 21-10 before the half.

With the victory, Delaware State kept alive its hopes for a second straight winning season.

Carson Royal was 18 of 24 for 277 yards, three touchdowns and three interceptions and Florida A&M (3-8, 2-5) actually outgained Delaware State 379-346.
