Jonathan Carkhuff threw for 297 yards and three touchdowns, including a 41-yarder to Tim Hines with 47 seconds left to give Davidson a 28-24 win over Morehead State Saturday.

The Wildcats (3-7, 1-6 Pioneer Football League) snapped a six-game losing streak while handing the Eagles (2-8, 1-6) their fifth loss in a row.

Carkhuff, who was 35 of 61, needed 218 yards to set the school record for single-season passing yards and now has 2,955.

Morehead State struck first with an 85-yard touchdown pass from Zach Lewis to Donte Sawyer with 8:54 to go in the first quarter. The Eagles led until Chazzo Habliston kicked a 27-yard field goal late in the third, then the lead switched hands four more times.

Lanny Funsten had nine receptions for 86 yards and two touchdowns.

Lewis was 26 of 47 for 338 yards and three TDs for Morehead State, but was intercepted twice.
