David Shaw says Stanford's playmakers can be 'special'

Published Sep. 15, 2015 3:25 p.m. ET

Although the Stanford Cardinal struggled offensively in the opener against Northwestern, the team showed signs of improvement on offense in a 31-7 win over Central Florida.

Stanford's biggest offensive play came on a screen pass to Bryce Love, who took the pass 93-yards to the house for a touchdown.

Of Stanford's playmakers, head coach David Shaw said, "If we can keep these guys fresh, and get them out in space, they can be special."
