(STATS) - FCS All-America running back Marshaun Coprich of Illinois State will have his best shot at impressing coaches, scouts and executives at the next level when he participates in the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis next month.

Coprich learned this week that he will be one of the roughly 325 players invited to the combine Feb. 23-29 at Lucas Oil Stadium. Running backs will have their on-field workouts Feb. 26.

The two-time first-team All-American and Missouri Valley Football Conference offensive player of the year finished third in the voting for the 2015 STATS FCS Offensive Player of the Year. He ranked No. 2 in the FCS in rushing yards (1,967) and rushing yards per game (151.3) as well as No. 3 in points per game (11.2) as a senior.

"My running style? I like to get on the edge of the defense, explode between the tackles and just go score," said the 5-foot-9, 205-pound Coprich, who ended his Illinois State career with 5,195 rushing yards and 60 touchdowns in 52 games.

"Learning Marshaun had received an invite to the NFL Combine was great news," Redbirds coach Brock Spack said. "It is certainly well-deserved after the work he put in the past two years here at Illinois State. He has earned all of the accolades that have come his way to this point, and this will be a great opportunity for him to see where he stacks up with some of the best players in the country."

Coprich will be the first Illinois State player at the combine since wide receiver Laurent Robinson in 2007. Robinson was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in the third round.

The draft will be held April 28-30 in Chicago.
