Columbia beats NAIA program Wayland Baptist 75-63
Mark Cisco's 14 points and eight rebounds led a balanced attack, and Columbia rolled past NAIA program Wayland Baptist 75-63 on Friday night in the opening game of the Hilltop Challenge.
Cisco was 6 of 8 from the field. Grant Mullins and Brian Barbour added 14 points apiece for the Lions (4-1), and Alex Rosenberg had 11. Columbia led 36-26 at halftime and by as many as 19 points in the second half. Mullins and Rosenberg drained three 3-pointers each.
Eric Milam scored 16 points and grabbed six rebounds to lead the Pioneers, who treated the game as an exhibition. Chance Billups added 15 points, including four 3-pointers, off the bench. Wayland Baptist shot 54 percent from the field in the second half, but it wasn't enough to get back into the game.
The game was the first-ever meeting between the schools.
