Colorado will continue post-Thanksgiving tradition
The University of Colorado football team will play its season finale on the day after Thanksgiving, continuing a tradition it had with Nebraska for 15 seasons in the Big 12.
The Colorado-Utah game in Salt Lake City, the first matchup between the schools since 1962, was originally scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 26, but the Pac-12 approved the switch Tuesday.
Colorado and Nebraska played the last Friday in November all 15 years both were members of the Big 12. The Cornhuskers, who are joining the Big Ten this summer, will play Iowa on the same day to continue their similar tradition.
Future schedules haven't been drawn up but as designated rivals, it's likely the Buffaloes and Utes will continue playing on the Friday after Thanksgiving beyond 2011.
