College Gameday will visit Indianapolis for Big Ten Championship
For the third time this year, ESPN’s College Gameday will be hosted at a Wisconsin Badgers football game
First Green Bay, then Madison, now Indianapolis. The popular Saturday morning show on ESPN hosted by Rece Davis, Lee Corso, Desmond Howard, and Kirk Herbstreit will be visiting Indianapolis on Saturday, making it the third time the show will be at a site where the Wisconsin Badgers will be playing this year.

College Gameday opened the season in Green Bay when Wisconsin and the LSU Tigers kicked off the season, ending in a Badgers’ 16-14 victory over the No. 5 Tigers.
The show then came back around in week 7 in Madison on Bascom Hill, when the Badgers hosted the then-undefeated Ohio State Buckeyes. It was another instant classic that did not fall in the Badgers favor as the Buckeyes squeaked out a win in Camp Randall 30-23 in overtime.
This week, College Gameday chose to go with the championship game with the two highest ranked teams, being No. 6 Wisconsin and No. 7 Penn State facing each other. It will be interesting to see where the Badgers and Penn State Nittany Lions end up in this week’s College Football Playoff rankings after No. 3 Michigan lost a close one to Ohio State. There is a possibility the Wolverines will be ranked ahead of both the Badgers and Nittany Lions having beaten both, but with Michigan out of the conference championship, it is likely whoever wins in Indy on Saturday will jump them in the poll.
This will be Wisconsin’s 15th appearance all time at a College Gameday hosted site. The Badgers are 5-9 in these games.
The Badgers and Nittany Lions will kick off on Saturday at 8:00 ET. It is Wisconsin’s fourth ever appearance in the conference championship game since the Big Ten became two divisions back in 2011. Wisconsin holds a 2-1 record in the title game, with their most recent appearance a 59-0 crushing loss at the hands of Ohio State. The Buckeyes then went on to win the national title after securing the fourth spot in the final CFP rankings.
This will be Penn State’s first ever appearance in the conference championship.
