Cody Kessler's NFL counterpart is a Super Bowl-winning quarterback

Cody Kessler is poised to have a standout season, not that he didn't play spectacularly last year.

The only difference is that this time he's on the national radar. This being likely his final season as a redshirt senior, it's also a time when pundits will begin making comparisons to NFL players. In this case, Greg Wallace at Bleacher Report has one in mind: Drew Brees.

"Is his size a concern for professional scouts? Perhaps, but let’s take a look at another college quarterback who had big stats but saw questions about his size," Wallace writes. "You’d say Drew Brees has had a solid NFL career, wouldn’t you? I’d say so. We’re not saying Kessler equals Brees, but there’s reason to compare the two, without question."

Always good when you're compared to a Super Bowl-winning quarterback.
