Cody Kessler has improved at avoiding sacks

Published Oct. 8, 2015 2:22 p.m. ET

USC senior quarterback Cody Kessler has been one of the most dominant players in college football.

He's top three in pass efficiency, completion percentage and touchdown passes. As the Orange County Register observes, however, Kessler doesn't like to talk about his own statistics. Instead, The report provides great example of efforts Kessler has made to avoid sacks in 2015.

Kessler reportedly worked hard this offseason to improve his strength and speed.

“He’s made three or four plays this year where he’s avoided the rush, whether it’s extending the play to throw it down the field to create a big play or … to scramble to get first downs,” said USC coach Steve Sarkisian.
