Clemson Football Recruiting: Will the Tigers land LB Justin Foster?
Clemson football could get a commitment from 4-star Crest (NC) linebacker Justin Foster, and multiple recruiting sites are pointed that way.
Justin Foster has set his announcement for halftime of the Crest vs Kings Mountain game at Crest Stadium. His finalists are Clemson, Georgia, and Tennessee. If he commits to the Tigers, he will be the third linebacker commit for the 2017 recruiting class.
Even though Baylon Spector (Calhoun, Ga) is listed as a safety and Logan Rudolph (Rock Hill, SC) a defensive end, both are projected to be linebackers at Clemson.
The 6’4 247lb linebacker plays on the outside for Crest High but could easily be used at the MIKE position or as a defensive end in college. Right now, he is under 250 pounds, but a year in a college weight room could push him closer to 260. If he gets to that weight, then I could definitely see him as a disruptive defensive end with enough speed and quickness to rush the passer and strength to stuff running backs.
Clemson is believed to be the leader for his services and the Tennessee faithful have always been aware of those predictions. Foster was at the Clemson/Louisville game on Saturday and made visits for the S.C. State game on September 17th and July’s All-In Cookout.
Foster is regarded as the top recruit in North Carolina, and he has been selected to play in both the U.S. Army All-American and Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas all-star games.
So who gets Foster? Clemson.
And why?
His sister is a student at Clemson, and how could he not pick the Tigers after experiencing that electric atmosphere on Saturday night. I will be very surprised if he picks Georgia or Tennessee.
