Wynrick Smothers rushed for two touchdowns and Central Arkansas beat Eastern Illinois 37-7 on Saturday in the first meeting between the teams.
Terence Bobo also scored a pair of touchdowns and Eddie Carmona contributed three field goals for the Bears (2-0).
Nathan Dick completed 22 of 30 passes for 167 yards. Central Arkansas passed for 214 yards and rushed for 162 yards.
The Bears defense forced five fumbles by the Panthers (0-2) and held them to 52 yards passing and 68 yards rushing.

Frank Newsome had a sack and a forced fumble.
Jimmy Potempa led the Panthers on the ground with 92 yards. Brandon Large completed a pass to Von Wise to score. Large was sacked six times and completed only 10 of 24 passes.
