Cardale Jones a popular projection for top 10 in 2016 NFL draft

Cardale Jones is having a big week on Twitter, and if NFL draft prognosticators are correct he can look forward to a big day next spring.

ESPN.com became the latest site to project the Ohio State quarterback as a top 10 pick in 2016, placing him No. 7 overall. That is four spots behind teammate Joey Bosa, a defensive end. Also ahead of Jones are fellow Big Ten quarterbacks Christian Hackenberg of Penn State and Connor Cook of Michigan State.

Unlike those two, however, Jones is not even guaranteed to be the starter for his team this fall. He is expected to be in a three-way competition with senior Braxton Miller, the two-time Big Ten most valuable player who missed last season with a shoulder injury, and sophomore J.T. Barrett, the reigning Big Ten Quarterback of the Year.

Earlier in the week, Jones was also projected as a top 10 pick by 247sports, Bleacher Report, SB Nation, Sporting News and WalterFootball.com.
