Captain Kirk comes to defense of K-State band
At least one person is standing up for the Kansas State band as it defends itself from accusations of turning its halftime performance at Saturday's football game into an X-rated romp.
That person is none other than James T. Kirk, captain of the USS Enterprise. Well, it's actually William Shatner, who played Kirk on "Star Trek," and was the commander of the he iconic spacecraft. Shatner expressed outrage at the Big 12 conference for its reaction to the band's formation, which provoked Kansas State to announce self-imposed punishment, including a $5,000 fine.
I think it's time for the @Big12Conference leaders to step down and get their eyes checked. What a travesty! https://t.co/VDkOOA5dUl

Shatner got a glimpse of the formation chart that the K-State band released to prove its wholesome intention of guiding the Enterprise -- and not a giant phallic symbol -- into the open mouth of a Kansas Jayhawk, and compared it to the photos of the actual formation on the football field.

Know what he saw? Yep, the Enterprise.
Yes! Did you see the plan for the formation? It's exactly this https://t.co/9wbe8XnQgd
