California quarterback Jared Goff has left Saturday's game against Stanford midway through the second quarter with a shoulder injury.

Goff went down awkwardly with 7:06 remaining in the first half after getting clobbered in the backfield by Cardinal linebacker Shayne Skov. Goff was down for a few minutes before walking off on his own accompanied by trainers and immediately heading for the locker room.

Backup Zach Kline came in to replace the freshman, and Kline played the second half in Goff's place.

Goff threw for 194 yards, giving him 3,508 yards passing to break Pat Barnes' previous single-season record of 3,499 set in 1996.
