Matt Johnson threw for three touchdowns and ran for another score as Bowling Green beat Miami, Ohio 45-3 on Tuesday night for the most lopsided victory in the 70-game history of the rivalry.

Bowling Green (6-3, 4-1 MAC) became bowl eligible with the win and remained in contention for a Mid-American Conference East Division title. The Falcons trail Buffalo by a game in the standings, but the two teams have yet to play this season.

After leading 7-3 after one quarter of play, Bowling Green took over with a 17-point second quarter and a 21-point third quarter. Travis Green rushed for 112 yards going over 1,000 for the season. His 1,018 yards are the most since PJ Pope had 1,098 in 2004.

The Redhawks (0-9, 0-5) fumbled five times in the loss.
