Bowles transferring from Tennessee to Chattanooga

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) Wide receiver Drae Bowles is transferring from Tennessee to Football Championship Subdivision program Chattanooga.

Chattanooga athletic department spokesman Jay Blackman confirmed Monday that Bowles was coming to the Mocs. The (Chattanooga) Times Free Press first reported the news.

Bowles played two games for Tennessee as a sophomore this fall. He appeared in 11 games as a redshirt freshman in 2013 while contributing primarily on special teams. Bowles didn't catch a pass in his Tennessee career.

Bowles, a 6-footer from Jackson, Tennessee, will be eligible to play for Chattanooga in 2015.

Chattanooga went 10-4 and reached the FCS quarterfinals this season.
