Blue Devil Named ACC Rookie of the Week
Redshirt freshman quarterback Daniel Jones was named the ACC Football Rookie of the Week.
The ACC announced their weekly conference football awards for the games over the weekend, and Duke QB Daniel Jones was named the ACC Rookie of the Week. The Blue Devils are coming off a close 38-35 loss to Georgia Tech on Saturday.
Jones played well against the Yellow Jackets, leading the offense and sparking a comeback from a 28-7 deficit in a losing effort. The redshirt freshman quarterback compiled 305 passing yards with two touchdowns along with a career-high 73 rushing yards. Unfortunately, Duke was unable to come away with the victory after allowing a career-high 459 total yards and four touchdowns from Georgia Tech QB Justin Thomas, who was named the ACC Offensive Back of the Week.
Duke Football is currently 3-5 this season and winless in four conference games. The Blue Devils will have key ACC game this weekend to keep their postseason hopes alive, hosting No. 23 Virginia Tech at 3:30.
