The Pro Football Hall of Fame is announcing plans to create a permanent home on its campus for the Black College Football Hall of Fame.

The Black College Football Hall of Fame will be part of the Hall of Fame Village in Canton, Ohio, a $500 million development that is scheduled to be completed in 2019.

Pro Football Hall of Fame president and executive director David Baker says the organizations have partnered to create a Black College Football Hall of Fame exhibit that will be on display at Canton this year. There are also plans for a traveling exhibit to be displayed at historically black colleges and universities around the country.

The Black College Football Hall of Fame was founded in 2009. The first class of inductees included Jerry Rice, Walter Payton and Eddie Robinson.
