Big 12 commissioner Bob Bowlsby suggests changing recruiting rules

IRVING, Texas -- Big 12 Commissioner Bob Bowlsby believes now is a good time to look at possible changes to the college recruiting model.

Bowlsby said Thursday at the league's meetings that maybe it's time to allow more than one paid official visit to campus, and allow for the expenses paid for parents or family members to have make visits.

The commissioner also suggests possibly using Skype or FaceTime for initial recruiting interviews. He says such technology is just one example of ''where the world has changed and the architecture around college athletics hasn't changed with it.''

Bowlsby expects the Big 12 to seat a task force to look at the changing environment in college athletics and begin putting together an agenda of things that need to be addressed.
