Bethune-Cookman 34, NC Central 6
Behind the running and passing of Jackie Wilson and a stout defensive showing, Bethune-Cookman ruined North Carolina Central's homecoming Saturday with a 34-6 victory in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference action.
Wilson ran for 113 of the Wildcats' 333 rushing yards. The quarterback scored on a 3-yard run just before halftime to give Bethune-Cookman (5-3, 3-2) a 20-lead at the half. Wilson also completed 12 of 15 passes for 183 yards and an 11-yard touchdown pass to Patrick Harris early in the third quarter.
North Carolina Central (1-7, 0-5) surrendered 525 yards total offense to the Wildcats. That included 108 yards rushing by Isidore Jackson. Anthony Jordan also ran for two early, short touchdowns as Bethune-Cookman took a 7-0 lead in the first quarter and led 34-0 after three. When North Carolina Central finally scored in the fourth quarter, the point-after kick was blocked, ending a difficult day for the Eagles.
