COLUMBUS, Ohio - Urban Meyer's team was the defending national champion, a loaded squad that was everybody's preseason No. 1. The 2009 Florida Gators should have been a pleasure to coach. The Tim Tebow-led squad that only lost once, but for Meyer that season was a mental and physical grind that helped drive him away from coaching. Now Meyer is facing a similar challenge. His Buckeyes are defending champs and favorites to do it again. Since taking over at Ohio State, Meyer has insisted he is a changed man, just as intense but better able to enjoy success. The cost of attendance figure colleges and universities are obligated to make public by the federal government were never intended to be used by to determine extra compensation for athletes. But here we are. Some schools are increasing the amount of an athletic scholarship by more than $5,000 to cover cost of attendance. Others are only upping the scholarship by about $1,500.
