'Bama fan thanks Henry for inspiring her 7-year-old son: 'You made an impression'
If Alabama running back Derrick Henry has proved anything during his Heisman Trophy-winning season, it’s that hard work and determination will get you into the end zone.
Henry was a workhorse for the Crimson Tide in 2015, carrying the ball 339 times for 1,986 yards and 23 touchdowns. The Tide leaned on him, but he refused to break. He refused to go down. And after he had carried the ball so many times for so many yards and was up on the podium with the Heisman in hand, he wanted all the kids out there watching to see where hard work gets you.
And his message was recieved. In a Facebook post that Henry captured and shared on his Twitter feed Wednesday night, an Alabama fan expresses how thankful she is for the impression Henry has had on her 7-year-old son “Fitz.”
And that “means everything” to Henry:

It’s cool to see the kind of impact college football players can have on the younger players who look up to them.
