Arkansas State score late TD to beat Troy 41-34

Fredi Knighten scored on a 13-yard run with 3:56 remaining to lift Arkansas State to a 41-34 win over Troy on Thursday night.

Michael Gordon ran for 115 yards and two scores, and Anthony Kennedy passed for 282 yards and a touchdown for the Red Wolves (2-0, 1-0 Sun Belt Conference).

Arkansas State had a 20-7 lead after the first quarter before the Trojans (2-1, 0-1) scored 14 unanswered points in the second on a two-yard TD run by Deon Anthony and Corey Robinson's three-yard scoring pass to Eric Thomas.

Gordon scored both his touchdowns in the third quarter to help the Red Wolves take a 34-28 lead into the fourth.

Chandler Worthy caught a 53-yard touchdown pass from Deon Anthony with 12:18 to go in the game, followed by a missed PAT that left the game tied at 34.
