An Open letter to Dino Babers: Don't Leave the Orange
With the Syracuse football season coming to an end, a huge question remains. Will Dino Babers stay in Central New York? Our Paul Sr makes his plea.
I will be the first to acknowledge that I’ve been one of Dino Babers’ harshest critics. All that being said, it doesn’t mean that I have not recognized what you have brought to the table this year with Syracuse Football.
Orange is the New Fast is one of the most exciting things to happen in the Dome since we beat #5
More from Inside the Loud House
West Virginia on a Friday night which was the last time we lived up to our billing as The Loud House. What this team has been able to accomplish this year is truly amazing. Yes I recognize that they ended the season with a 4-8 record. As I have stated before Dino is putting jet fuel in a smart car. Sometimes producing astounding results.
The quarterback of the Orange averaged just under 300 yards per game passing good enough for 2nd best in the ACC. The leading receiver of the Orange lead the ACC in yards per game and was ranked 6th in the nation. Our punt returner lead the nation in average return yards. Any one of these would be amazing for a team that will be in the basement of the ACC this year. And this isn’t your father’s ACC which used to be bottom feeders. Boasting Clemson, Florida State and Louisville among other top twenty five teams speaks volumes to Dino’s master plan.
To break it down a little further, Babers took a ho-hum transfer from Maryland and turned him into a prolific receiver that could be drafted on a Thursday night in May. Yes Amba you owe Dino at least ½ of your signing bonus (more like 75%) because without him you would be lucky to be playing for the Las Vegas Kiss of the Arena Football league bagging groceries in the off season.
Dino has been able to do this without being able to shop for the groceries as Bill Parcells would say. What will this team look like when he has a year or two of the players that he recruited playing for him? I don’t know but I am excited for the future.
Yes we need to get better on defense, add some speed and endurance so they are up to it when ‘The New Fast’ goes 3 and out in 12 seconds. We need to teach Eric Dungey (#Dungey4Heisman) to slide or better yet not leave the pocket. We need to support our team and fill the Dome; but more than all of that we need Dino Babers to come back and be our Coach and return us to glory. The grass isn’t always greener on the other side ask Doug Marrone.
