Dan Di Lella threw for a career-high three touchdowns, two of them in the final 3 minutes of the first half, as Albany (N.Y.) won its Northeast Conference opener 41-20 over St. Francis (Pa.) on Saturday.

Di Lella found Cole King for a 19-yard score to give the Great Danes (2-2) a 14-7 lead 2:41 before halftime.

The Red Flash (1-4, 0-3) punted after three plays. Ryan Kirchner's 27-yard punt return put Albany at the St. Francis 39, and Di Lella found Kirchner for a 7-yard score and a 21-7 halftime lead.

Di Lella, who was 14 for 24 for 193 yards with two interceptions, connected again with King for a 49-yard touchdown on the opening play of the fourth quarter for a 31-13 Albany lead. King finished with seven receptions for 129 yards.

The Great Danes overcame 145 yards on 14 penalties. St. Francis was penalized 70 yards.
