North Carolina and Pitt each had two players receive ACC honors this week. UNC’s Ryan Switzer was tabbed the top specialists, while teammate Landon Turner was named the top lineman following their 59-21 win over Miami.

The explosive Switzer etched his name into the ACC record books when he brought back a punt 78 yards for a touchdown. It was the seventh TD return of his career, putting him atop the ACC career list and one shy from tying the FBS record.

Turner graded out a 93 percent during the Heels win over the Hurricanes and had 10 knockdown blocks, while not allowing a sack.

After beating Duke 31-13, Pitt’s Jordan Whitehead took home rookie of the week honors for the second straight time, while Mike Caprara was crowned top linebacker.

Whitehead played on both sides of the ball and recorded nine tackles as a strong safety and broke up a potential touchdown pass. As a running back, Whitehead gained 38 yards on four carries.

Caprara produced eight tackles and two sacks for the Panthers and had a fumble recovery.

Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson was the back of the week after throwing for 360 yards and two touchdowns during the Tigers 37-27 win over Syracuse. Watson also rushed 101 yards and a TD on 13 carries. It was only the second time in school history a player had thrown for over 350 yards and ran for 100 in the same game.

Virginia’s Canaan Severin caught eight passes for 116 yards and a career-high three touchdowns during the Cavaliers' 38-31 loss to Louisville, earning top wide receiver honors.

The defensive back of the week was FSU’s safety Derwin James, who had 10 tackles and a sack to lead the Seminoles to a 34-17 win over the Wolfpack.
