Abilene Christian outlasts Troy 38-35

TROY, Ala. (AP) Parker McKenzie threw for 312 yards and two touchdowns to lead Abilene Christian from 14 points down to beat Troy 38-35 Saturday night.

Troy built a 21-7 halftime lead on 5- and 1-yard touchdown runs by Brandon Silvers, and Silvers' 12-yard scoring pass to Brandon Burks.

The Wildcats (1-2) outscored Troy in the third by that same margin, to tie at 28, on Demarcus Thompson's 1-yard plunge, De'Andre Brown's 47-yard TD run and McKenzie's 63-yard strike to Cedric Gilbert.

Nik Grau was good on a 27-yard field goal and Adrian Duncan carried it in from nine yards to put Abilene up by 10, 38-28, with 1:17 left.

Dontreal Pruitt found John Johnson for 49 yards, setting up a 1-yard Burks touchdown which drew Troy (0-3) within three with 20 seconds left, but Jed Solomon recovered the onside kick to seal the win for Abilene Christian.
