A worthy cause: Fournette jersey auction nets $101,000 for charity

In response to the catastrophic flooding that's plagued the state of South Carolina this fall, LSU running back Leonard Fournette utilized his platform in a powerful way.
Offering a game-worn jersey for auction, Fournette's uniform top netted $101,000 by the conclusion of the bidding on Monday morning. All proceeds will be given to the South Carolina flood relief efforts.

After some uncertainty about whether the NCAA would allow the auction to proceed, the league agreed to let Fournette participate in this benevolent act.
The aftermath of the South Carolina flood is something that surely resonates with Fournette. He and his family were displaced due to Hurricane Katrina. While not entirely the same situation, parallels exist between those perilous ordeals.
To date, it's the most expensive game-used college football jersey sold online, according to ESPN.
