Suspects arraigned in boxer's death
Two men are being held with bail set at $1 million each in the beating death of a 17-year-old national champion boxer from Phoenix.
Police say Alexis Urbina was found unconscious and covered in blood in his family's south Phoenix home Sept. 3. He died of his injuries two days later.
There was no obvious sign of forced entry into the house, but Urbina's family told police some of his boxing memorabilia was missing.
Police say 22-year-old Robert Chavez and 23-year-old Joseph Corrales were arrested Friday night.
Both men have their initial court appearance Tuesday on charges of first-degree murder, burglary and trafficking in stolen property.
Neither Chavez nor Corrales have lawyers yet.
Urbina won the 141-pound Youth Men's Division at the USA Boxing National Championships in April.
