Mayweather not shy about reminding us how much money he makes to box
This probably goes without saying, but it is good to be Floyd Mayweather these days -- and there isn't usually a person on Earth more eager to tell you how good it is to be Floyd Mayweather than Mayweather himself.
So it should come as no surprise that the bombastic welterweight champ -- just two days after a majority-decision victory over Marcos Maidana improved his career record to 46-0 -- took to social media to remind his nearly three million Instagram followers and five million Twitter followers just how good it is to be him.
If Mayweather's $70 million estimate for his Saturday payday turns out to be accurate, that works out to nearly 1,600 times the 2012 national average wage index of $44,321.67, according to the Social Security Administration.
It's unclear, as of now, how Mayweather intends to spend his latest influx of cash, which, considerations for training time aside, was really earned over the course of about an hour, not 36 minutes. (Mayweather's walkout started at 12:18 a.m. ET, and the 12th round ended at about 1:13 a.m., per The Guardian.)
But given Mayweather's penchant for flaunting his dough and oversharing on the Internet, I suspect we'll know as soon as he does.
